Brigid Moss - Felt-making

Brigid began her artistic career as a painter before discovering her natural affinity with wool leading her to spinning, dyeing and ultimately felt-making after working with a felt-maker in Ireland. She began by using the colours of the natural or dyed fleece very much as a painter would use colours and tones, making wall-hangings, or paintings with wool. From here she explored and experimented with the medium developing a range of items such as rugs, cot blankets, slippers, purses, waistcoats and greetings cards, through to large delicate translucent pieces with shapes embedded in them, demonstrating the tremendous versatility of felt. She also gives workshops in felt-making by request.
