Since graduating from Bretton Hall in 1992, David has continued to follow parallel careers in visual arts and music, each discipline informing and inspiring the other. He sees relationships between melody, colour, line, rhythm, atmosphere and presence with a celebration of the richness of experience bringing the whole together.

Much of his visual work has been created outdoors in urban, rural and industrial settings, although recently he has been developing iconographic images layered up in a studio situation.

His work has been shown in London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Bristol and North Yorkshire. May 2007 will see his fourth appearance in the North Yorkshire Open Studios event when the public are invited to visit artists in their workplaces throughout the county.
